Billy Bobble - MG Review
In this quaint adventure of two middle grade geniuses, Mellette does a great job of combining magic and science in a way that makes both somewhat understandable.
Suzy and Billy are destined to be best friends (possible soul mates). Their almost equal IQ, makes it equally difficult to make friends in their public school. Billy’s schizophrenic mom doesn’t help matters either.
When they decide to make a magic wand to try help Billy’s Mom get better, they get into a much bigger dilemma than they anticipate.
This is a fantastic story for late elementary, middle grade students. I think they would enjoy the “real” drama of tween hood with the mixture of magical witches and wands!
